The expansion of KALAHI-CIDSS implementation for 2012 calls for a need to hire new staff who will serve as the area coordinating team of the KC municipality. For Palawan, nine (9) municipalities will be open for implementation. Of these are : Agutaya, Aborlan, Cuyo, Coron, Cagayancillo, Narra, Taytay, Quezon, and Sofronio Espanola. Thus, to hire qualified individuals is needed to carry out the project goals and objectives of KALAHI-CIDSS. A job fair at the VJR Hall, Provincial Capitol in Puerto Princesa City, Palawan was recently conducted by KALAHI-CIDSS IV-B last November 18, 2011 to have a pool of applicants who are willing to be part of the area coordinating teams.

Registration commenced at 8:00 in the morning, of which there were 204 hopeful applicants. They underwent an orientation on DSWD programs and services to which a written examination subsequently followed. Social Welfare and Development Team Leader of Palawan, Cruzalde Ablana, opened the activity, discussing the DSWD vision, mission and goals. Assistant Regional Director and KALAHI-CIDSS Regional Project Manager Annie Mendoza discussed the KALAHI-CIDSS project and job vacancies for KALAHI-CIDSS . Those who passed the examination were the only ones who were shortlisted. A panel interview followed right after lunch.

The job fair was held to fill in the positions of 17 area coordinators, 17 deputy area coordinators, 17 municipal financial analyst, and 53 community facilitators.

The support of Governor Mitra on the activity was shown through the help extended by the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office and the Public Employment Service Office of Palawan. ###
