The KALAHI-CIDSS Regional Project Management Team, together with the Area Coordinating Teams (ACT), attended the Year-End Evaluation of KALAHI-CIDSS at the Kimberly Hotel last December 20-22, 2011. This served as a venue for the ACT to raise their issues and concerns and also provide updates on the accomplishments of each team in light of KALAHI-CIDSS implementation.Sharing of best practices of teams was done for the adoption of other teams in their respective municipalities. As for the implementation of MakamasangTugon in ten municipalities, an issue such as the request for fund release was discussed extensively to clear out any misconception as this is a crucial step for the start of the sub-project implementation early next year. Nonetheless, representatives from the Millennium Challenge Account-Philippines (MCA-P) were present, headed by no less than the MCA-P Director for KALAHI-CIDSS Andy Moll. Though with a tight schedule, the MCA-P went to help clarify issues on procurement and finance. Among cited were the supplies of the ACT, reimbursements, travel expenses, and other administrative concerns. Mr. Andy Moll said that it is important to take stock of these issues and solve them immediately in order to effectively deliver quality work for KALAHI-CIDSS.
2012 will prove to be a tough year for the KALAHI-CIDSS for its scale up implementation in 17 new areas in the MIMAROPA region, with a total of thirty (30) municipalities which are mostly geographically challenging.
