Food for School Program
WHAT is FSP?
It is an immediate intervention in a form of food subsidy to address hunger among poor families through their children who will be given a daily ration of one kilo of rice for a specific period of time giving a poor family an assured rice on its table everyday.
WHY is FSP needed?
For hunger mitigation among poor families and improve school attendance of children
WHO is it intended for?
Poor families through their children enrolled in public elementary schools , DepEd supervised preschools and day care centers
WHO is DSWD working with to implement this project?
DepEd, National Food Authority (NFA), National Nutrition Council (NNC), Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG), and Local Government Units (LGUs)

In four (Oriental Mindoro, Occidental Mindoro, Romblon and Palawan) of the five provinces of MIMAROPA covering 35 municipalities in 1,099 day care centers

Children in selected municipalities have to be enrolled for the school year
WHAT have we accomplished so far?
35,702 children of poor families were served for school year 2008-2009
